Volunteering Roles within SDPP
- Do you live locally?
- Have you got some time to support your local community?
- Would you like to be part of a friendly, professional team?
- Have you got skills and experience to offer in helping others?
- Would you like to increase your confidence and knowledge in a supportive environment?
Community Café Volunteers
As a Café volunteer, you will work alongside our Café Manager and the team to provide an energetic, friendly and delicious coffee and cake experience! Excellent customer service is our aim, to welcome all customers to feel at home and part of their community. Full Barista training is provided
Information Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to work alongside our Welfare Benefits Advisor to research and provide up to date information on local care and support services, help customers with their enquiries and learn about what help is available locally for disabled people, carers and older, vulnerable and disadvantaged members of our communities
Being part of the team at Marianne’s is a great opportunity to make a real difference – this service is delivered as a result of a generous donation and every penny spent in the café goes back towards providing the services within Marianne’s Community Café, in the future.
Citizen Advocates
Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates and advocacy schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice.
Our Citizen Advocates are key members of our teams and the role they play in providing advocacy support to vulnerable people in the community is vital.
We are always pleased to hear from anyone who is interested in giving some of their time to support others to have a voice, feel empowered and stand in their corner.
To find out more contact our Advocacy services in Slough and in Surrey.
